ABOUT JEF

“I’ve never been very interested
in simple answers."“

Jef’s work has moved through different worlds: from DJ booths and large-scale events to books, podcasts, media projects and stages.

The formats changed. The curiosity didn’t: why do we do what we do
and what helps us do something different when it matters?

ABOUT JEF

None of this was
really the plan.

The funny thing is: I still do all of it.

01 — MUSIC
DJ Eagl, clubs, festivals and a fascination with what makes a room move.

02 — BUILDING THINGS
TRILLERS, large-scale events and years of building
festivals and consumer brands.

03 — ONBESPREEKBAAR
What started as two friends talking openly about mental health
grew into one of Belgium’s largest mental health communities.

04 — WORDS & STAGES
Three books, podcasts and 400+ talks translating complex ideas
into something people can actually use.

WHAT CONNECTS IT ALL

Curiosity, mostly.

I’ve always been interested in why people do what they do. Why we get stuck. Why we change. Why we know better and still don’t always do better.

That curiosity has taken me into psychology, philosophy, culture, creativity and into more projects, conversations and rabbit holes than I could have planned.

I don’t think my job is to have all the answers. I’d rather find better questions, and turn what I learn into something useful.

SELECTED WORK

Some things I’ve built
along the way.

Different projects.
Usually the same instinct: make something worth paying attention to.

01 — ONBESPREEKBAAR
Co-founded in 2020.

A mental health platform built around making
difficult conversations easier to have through
a podcast serving 3M+ listeners.

02 — BOOKS
Three books. 60,000+ copies sold.

Ideas about mental health, self-understanding and navigating a life that rarely comes with instructions.

03 — TRILLERS
Event, music & culture.

A large-scale event series bringing thousands of people together around music and nightlife.

A LITTLE MORE PERSONAL

A few things that
probably explain a lot.

01 — I’m still a DJ
Music was the first thing that taught me how attention works.
I’m not planning on giving that up anytime soon.

02 — I collect rabbit holes.
Psychology one week. Attention the next. Philosophy, technology, culture, creativity and whatever makes me wonder: why does that work like that?

03 — I take ideas seriously. Myself, slightly less so.
I like difficult subjects. I also think most of them survive a joke.

04 — I’m suspicious of certainty.
The more interesting an answer becomes, the more likely it seems
to contain an “it depends.”

05 — I need worlds to disappear into.
Music, games, mountains, books, long conversations…
Preferably anything that makes time behave strangely.

WHAT NOW

Enough about me.
What are you working on?

If you’re looking for a keynote, collaboration or simply think
there’s something worth talking about, I’d love to hear about it.
